Established in 1966 and headquartered in Hualien, Taiwan, the Tzu Chi Foundation is an international charitable organization with Special Consultative Status awarded by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The Tzu Chi Foundation Canada (TCFC) was established in 1992. In the past 26 years, volunteers have extended Tzu Chi’s missions in support of charity, education, medicine, culture, humanity, international relief, and environmental protection to communities in Canada.
“Guarding health, guarding life, and guarding love” are the core values of Tzu Chi’s Mission of Medicine. In Canada, Tzu Chi’s team of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have been providing not-for-profit medical services and humanitarian medical assistance, as well as promoting public awareness of preventive care.
